Pelatihan Pengelasan Dengan Pendekatan Project-Based Learning Untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan dan Kreativitas Teknis Masyarakat di Kelurahan Tajurhalang

Abstract

Abstrak: Masyarakat di Tajur Halang Bogor meskipun memiliki potensi sumber daya manusia yang sangat besar, tetapi belum diimbangi dengan keterampilan teknis yang terstandarisasi, terutama bidang pengelasan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas teknis dan mendorong kemandirian serta inovasi masyarakat melalui pelatihan pengelasan yang dirancang dengan pendekatan project-based learning. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan terdiri dari dua tahap utama: (1) pemberian materi dasar dan keselamatan pengelasan, dan (2) pelatihan praktik langsung dengan pendekatan project-based learning, di mana peserta membuat produk sederhana menggunakan las listrik. Mitra kegiatan ini adalah kelompok masyarakat di Kecamatan Tajurhalang dengan 11 peserta. Keberhasilan kegiatan diukur melalui evaluasi keterampilan praktik, serta kuesioner. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan teknis peserta yang signifikan. Peserta tidak hanya mampu mengoperasikan alat las dengan benar, tetapi juga peningkatan pengetahuan. Berdasarkan kuesioner, nilai posttest semua peserta (100%)  naik dari nilai pretest dan 73% peserta mendapatkan nilai ≥ 70. Pendekatan project-based learning terbukti efektif dalam memicu kreativitas, memecahkan masalah teknis, dan membangun kemandirian. Kegiatan ini memberikan dampak langsung berupa peningkatan kompetensi teknis pengelasan.

Abstract: The community in Tajur Halang, Bogor, despite having enormous human resource potential, lacks standardised technical skills, especially in the field of welding. This community service activity aims to improve technical capacity and encourage community independence and innovation through welding training designed with a project-based learning approach. The implementation method consists of two main stages: (1) provision of basic welding materials and safety, and (2) hands-on training using a project-based learning approach, where participants create simple products using electric welding. The activity partners are community groups in the Tajurhalang sub-district with 11 participants. The success of the activity is measured through practical skills evaluation and questionnaires. The results of the activity showed a significant improvement in the participants' technical abilities. Participants were not only able to operate welding equipment correctly, but also demonstrated increased knowledge. Based on the questionnaire, all participants' post-test scores (100%) increased from their pre-test scores, and 73% of participants scored ≥ 70. The project-based learning approach proved effective in stimulating creativity, solving technical problems, and building independence. This activity had a direct impact in the form of increased technical welding competence.
